Lithos Syndicated Loan Deal Room
SLDR serves as a central hub for creating, sharing, reviewing and approving syndicated loan deal room documentation. Our solution stresses visibility on deal progress and acts as a foundation for workflow automation.
Watch DemoAbout The ProjectThe syndicated loan deal process, with its many different stages and moving parts, can be complex and confusing. Counterparties often struggle to keep track of multiple deals spread across multiple deal rooms in bespoke platforms or on Excel spreadsheets. This, in turn, may lead to issues determining a deal's status and to a general lessening of transparency and efficiency.
28Stone sought to address this process pain point by creating Lithos Syndicated Loan Deal Room, a central hub where all early stage deal data can be stored, tagged and tracked. In addition, the SLDR dashboard provides counterparties with continuous updates, in real time, on all outstanding tasks in their respective deal rooms for their active deals all the way from initiation to go live.

Watch The Demo Video To Learn More About The ProjectWe see that there’s a need for a centralized platform where data can be ingested to track where we are in the process, and bring visibility on allocation, open/pending/completed items, which documents are pending upload, what needs to be signed, escalated, etc.
A centralized syndicated loans deal hub...Our 28Stone Lithos team brainstormed the Syndicated Loans Deal Room project with real world client users to design and build a streamlined and integrated digital platform that transforms the loan syndication process by better enabling information flow to adjacent applications....empowering our clients to make data-driven decisionsWith robust reporting, analytics, and a dashboard to track allocations of multiple deals, SLDR empowers clients to make data-driven decisions, reduce process inefficiencies, and ensure compliance at every stage of a deal.
Main Features
Deal Dashboard
Our dashboard captures workflow status from approved participants. It tracks and displays deal status on the road to go live. Each participant is able to view active and historical deals with deal status and outstanding tasks to complete. All deals are organized into two main tabs: Tasks and Deal Files.
Deal Tasks Management
Tasks are organized into 5 categories including Needs Review, Needs Uploading File, Needs Signature, Needs Voting, and Confirm Allocation. All tasks are transitioned individually, with the exception of Confirm Allocation. Once the confirmed allocation task is marked as Done, all other tasks across all categories are automatically transitioned to Done as well.
Deal Files Management
Deals are organized into 3 groups: selected Active Deals, Closed Deals, and All Deals. Uploaded files can be stored with the understanding that each deal participant will still need to access their respective deal rooms to fulfill outstanding tasks. This feature creates a storage library of the standard documentation required for syndicate deals, making them readily accessible in one central location.
Notifications Center
The notifications center provides users with real time alerts to outstanding tasks as well as status of completed tasks or deal allocations. With this feature, participants will remain aware of when they need to take any action whether it be viewing updates to agreements or submitting outstanding documentation required for final deal allocation.
Search For Deals/Tasks/Files
The dashboard includes a search feature allowing for all deals, tasks and files to be searched by the user on command as needed.
Downloadable Files
All files can be downloaded onto a user’s local drive. Users can export any subset of deals to a variety of formats, providing them an option for the data to be viewed offline.
The SLDR Dashboard
The SLDR dashboard displays a real time status of each active deal enabling counterparties to understand what's still required to go live.
Deal Dashboard
Our dashboard tracks real time deal status for approved participants on the road to Go Live. It provides updates on all pending and completed tasks.
NDA Status Verified
All approved counterparties must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before they are granted access to confidential information related to the syndicate deal.
Deal’s Progress Bar
Deal progress information is displayed as a progress bar and also indicates how many tasks are not complete yet for a quick visual representation of each deal's progress.
Closing Date
Deal closure date marks the formal completion of all necessary steps to finalize the syndicate loan, ensuring the borrower can access the financing as intended.
Remove Me From Deal
Initial commitments from approved participating counterparties are non-binding until the final allocation is completed providing an option to opt out of a syndicated loan deal prior to final deal allocation.
Deal Tasks
Real-time-update capable page: When a user completes some task, after several seconds all other users see that change on their screens as well. Tasks in the table can be sorted and can have files linked to them. Deal Tasks are organized into 5 categories: Needs Review, Needs Uploading File, Needs Signature, Needs Voting, and Confirm Allocation, and have a To Do or Done status.
Deal Files
Deal Files is a convenient space for the involved counterparties to track, view, upload and delete files. The view shows files organized in folders, file names, formats, statuses.
All files can be downloaded onto a user’s computer as applicable. You can also export any subset of deals to a variety of formats i.e. CSV file, providing an option for the data to be viewed offline.
An ideal syndicated loan deal process will provide all participants with a secure, seamless, transparent experience

Notifications Center
Users receive notifications as a result of different operations performed on deals they are involved in. For example, notifications are sent to ask for document uploads, reviews, to ask for consent for allocation or when a user confirms allocation for a deal. Such notifications ease real-time monitoring of a deal’s progress and can help make the whole syndicated loan process more efficient and streamlined.
TechnologiesWhile working on demo projects in Lithos Labs, our dedicated research and innovation hub, 28Stone's engineers explore cutting-edge technologies and look for the best ways to develop innovative solutions that address the unique challenges of the capital markets industry. Syndicated Loan Deal Room project is no exception, it’s a truly cloud-native solution created ing MS Azure, modern languages, libraries and frameworks.
ReactWe’ve chosen to use React as our main Javascript front-end library, as it allows us to improve code quality, e.g. type safety, unidirectional data flow, and component-based architecture.
TypescriptProgramming/scripting language used with React. Complements normal Javascript by adding type safety, which improves code quality.
.NETMulti-platform main back-end framework without asp.net 8 extensions, which are substituted by Azure API handling extensions.
Azure Cloud FunctionsUsed for incoming api request handling. Substitutes normal asp .net core endpoint mechanism (Controllers/Handlers, Services) with Azure Functions, Validators, Handlers.
Entity FrameworkExtension to .NET 8 as interface between database and back-end logic, which allows higher level database manipulation without direct sql queries.
BicepA language and tool that simplifies the creation of Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates for infrastructure as code (IaC) deployments.
Our ApproachIn each project we work on, both in our Lithos Labs or for our clients, we strive to use cutting-edge technologies, modern solutions and the bes approaches to ensure that our solutions are built accordingly to the highest standards of the industry. Here are some of the practices we used in the Syndicated Loan Deal Room solution development.
Feature Sliced Design (FSD)With SLDR we sought to streamline our development process by breaking a complex project into smaller, independent slices, and have therefore chosen to use FSD. These slices, built around business domains, promote better organization and focus on specific functionalities, which leads to several benefits: faster development due to manageable pieces, improved collaboration as team members can concentrate on their slices, and a more flexible and scalable final product since slices can be easily modified or added to.
Microsoft SQL Server Management StudioA versatile integrated environment for managing SQL infrastructure. It allows developers and database administrators to access, configure, administer, and develop all components of SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, and more. With rich script editors and visual design tools, SSMS simplifies tasks like querying, table design, and database management. It’s a powerful choice for direct database manipulation.
In SLDR, we set out to create a truly cloud-native solution from day one. Using Microsoft Azure as our platform, we took advantage of numerous cloud technologies, including Entra, App Service, Azure SQL Database, and others. The infrastructure was set up in an IaC fashion using Azure Bicep. This allowed us to move swiftly with the development, anticipate scaling needs, while keeping the costs down.
